I think the new pick ‘n pay logo looks terrible, it looks more old school than the old logo. they could have just used a just plain helvetica or plain arial. the colours, they should have stuck to red.

While understanding that one would not want to deviate too drastically from the old design. One cannot help thinking how such a huge organization would miss the opportunity to move on to a new platform… a little like the taste of unsalted food, all the ingredients still need that something special.

i think change is good…must admit it will take a while to get used the new branding…

I definitely agree it was time for a change, I’m just not sure this is one.

Looking at the work that Landor has produced for other clients, this is disappointing. Why pay UK rates when anybody can round off your logo and lose a drop shadow.

I’m willing to bet that there were some amazing ideas on the table but that PnP got nervous - so jillions of layouts later, they’re pretty much back where they started.

I also don’t warm to ‘Inspired by you’. It seems a bit stellar. I dont really believe it.

I think the old logo was a brand in its own right, but the change was necessary to align the Company with the changes in time and creativity. For any brand to grow, it must change with times. I am not sure about the colours. I think the inclusion of the old “blue” would have worked well for me somehow.

Yes,change is cool but I quite agree that someone here in SA could have done a better job than that?..BUT it’s fair to say that we will never know now-let’s get used to the logo-its average….and is it pink?

If they were really interested in finding out what the general public thinks of their new logo, then they should have enlisted the help of a professional organisation - such as The Business Survey Company.

Reminds me of an American Indian legend of the shaping of man.
All the animals contributed some feature to a clay statue and then some prankster went and poured water over it…
The new logo doesn’t say much but may go with whatever you will eventually say - safe for the future, simple in shape and design and open to “color coding”.
It may be two steps ahead for the moment in South Africa and seems to create something between discomfort and wonder.

R1,110,000.00 YES ONE HUNDRED AND TEN MILLION RAND SPEND ON THE NEW LOOK AND FEEL! It is ugly and not inspiring. PNP has gone backwards with this campaign. No wonder the staff at certain shops are also acting retarded.

Thank goodness for active competition and choice. anyone who thinks this is good - have your eyes examined
