In these days - ppl will never be happy about what they earn becuase of greed - its only about what you put aside as savings that will determine how happy u are about your salary. Petrol, food, clothing keep on going up due to the spending and the booming of economy. So I think this question is a bit irrelevant. What we should be asking is what do u do with what you earn that will determine how your salary matches you. I think its better to earn less that earning too much becuase lifestyle as well as the way you conduct yourself will not depend on money but money will depend on you becuase there’s little to worry about that worry about too much money. We all striving to earn more but we end up not fullfilling our desires. So Salary has nothing to do with anyone but its what you do about it that determines you. As I’m writing this I need to earn more becuase i cannot keep up with the financial develpomnets. So it must start with you.

Its true that on average most people are not satisfied with their salaries, but one has to look at the fact that sometimes, you have just one person above you and he gets 2 to 3 times what you earn, while all the reports and comments that most of the time he submits to his/her supervisor come from you. Specially in an assistant position.
