[Media] South Africa - a sports-mad country

Lately, several sports-related press releases have passed through my inbox, from Sportingweb’s new Business of Sport to the announcement of free digital soccer magazine, Digidiski (4.2MB pdf), the brainchild of Sizwe Jacques Mbebe and his Holland-based partner Martijn Jelissen and which will be the flagship product of the soon-to-be launched TheSoccerPages.Com.

And then there’s Sports Leader, the Mail & Guardian Online’s latest in its series of Leader multi-user, editorially controlled blogs. It follows in the footsteps of last year’s award winning Thought Leader and the recently launched Tech Leader. Contributing to Sports Leader are professionals, intellectuals, armchair commentators and players.

Let the debate begin!
