[No Comment] What a busy end-July!

It’s a busy time ahead for the team this week, with half off to the 30th anniversary of The Loerie Awards in Margate for the four-day festival weekend 25 - 28 July 2008. Assistant editor Simone Puterman will be heading up the team on the ground, as yours truly will be jetting off to the States tomorrow to present at the American business editors annual conference in Kansas City this week. I’ll be reporting from there and presenting on B2B publishing opportunities in Africa. The annual ‘Big 7′ retail trade expo is also on at Gallagher Estate in Midrand at present (20 - 22 July) - visit our FMCG retail portal team there, and then there is the excellent research-rich conference, FutureFact on 24 July and the 2010 partnership conference 29 - 30 July. The deadline is fast approaching, too, for the annual Magazine Publishers’ Association of SA PICA Awards for excellence in magazine publishing and journalism. Publishers’ input in the past year on the revamped PICA/Mondi awards has been taken on board and there are some new categories, particularly on the B2B side.
