[Highway Africa] 2008 Digital Journalism award winners
By Simone Puterman in Highway Africa, Marketing | 3 comments
Well, somewhere along the way it appears that the Highway Africa New Media Awards have been rebranded to the SABC-Highway Africa Digital Journalism Awards - I shall find out in the morning when I shall be one of the very few who pitch for the 8.30am Q&A session with the winners (after last night’s Absa “Red Light Dinner”, I can tell you that this morning the turnout was considerably less than on Monday morning’s full house - I have pics to prove it, too). I’m just back from the SABC gala awards evening up at the 1820 Settlers’ Monument as it’s still a ’school night’ with ‘class’ tomorrow - and the party was just getting started…
And the winners are:
- South Africa scooped the Student/Individual category - Khaya Dlanga, SA’s most popular YouTube vlogger who also blogs on Thought Leader. He’s also works for MetropolitanRepublic in Johannesburg (now wouldn’t you say that’s one happy creative in that pic?).
- In the Non-profit category, it was Nirmal Shah from Seychelles for Nature of Seychelles (www.natureseychelles.org).
- And, lastly, Noel Kokou Tadegnon Noel Kokou Tadegnon of Togo scooped the Corporate category for Sites M
édia (www.mediatogo.info). Vincent Maher won last year for Amatomu.
I have been snappy happy with my Nokia-sponsored N82 but right now, I need to go to bed so I’m only putting up my pics of the happy winners. Congratulations! Hope you are partying hard right now!
Oh, thanks to Arthur Goldstuck’s tweets:
