[Social media] Bake bread in the Worldwide Blogger Bakeoff for Blog Action Day against poverty

Today, Wednesday, 15 October 2008, is Blog Action Day, for which the theme is poverty (last year’s was the environment):

On October 15th bloggers everywhere will publish posts that discuss poverty in some way. By all posting on the same day we aim to change the conversation that day, to raise awareness, start a global discussion and add momentum to an important cause.

A South African intitiative launched today to coincide with this is the Worldwide Blogger Bake-off, from Breadline Africa, masterminded by Quirk eMarketing. Read more about this on Bizcommunity today.

Follow the online conversation on Twitter, too, with @bloggerbakeoff and @blogactionday and see what’s been bookmarked by the (mainly) South African community on Muti.

    Hi Simone,
THANKS FOR POSTING ABOUT OUR CAMPAIGN. We’ve had a great response so far and many SA bloggers have been really supportive - it’s awesome.
We’ve been posting Bake Off updates on our blog and very soon we’ll write about some of the projects we’ll be supporting.
    Happy baking!
    Cheers,
    Tamsin - Breadline Africa

However, if we are talking simply about the sensuous differentiation of one kind of subjectivity from another, bats from those without a sonar modality, sighted humans from ones that are blind at birth, it’s hard to see how the blank wall isn’t there from the start and forever. ,

Response: Perhaps you’ve forgotten what this post is about: Bob Carter’s ludicrous claim that the globe has cooled, with the implicit implication that global warming has stopped. ,
